Next week will see some changes to traffic management as we progress works in different sections of the junction:
- Digging begins to the south west of the roundabout as preparations begin for the retaining wall. This means that traffic management moves to 1 lane in off-peak periods, with cones further out into Southway West Bound, allowing for a safe working zone.
- Two lanes will remain on Southway Eastbound and will adjust to the right-hand side, allowing for work access to the left.
- Two lanes will remain on Southway Eastbound and will adjust to the right-hand side, allowing for work access to the left.
- We are aiming to keep the two lanes in place on Southway Eastbound until early November.
- From early November it is anticipated that the 1 lane approach will come into effect in all areas.
- It is anticipated that the bus stop on the roundabout (Mersea Road bus stop) will be closed soon and until further notice, more detail as it comes.
As ever will will monitor traffic and continue to work on mitigations to ease pinch points where they occur.
