St Botolph’s Regeneration update
Following the introduction of the temporary pedestrian crossing, the subways at St Botolph’s are now closed.
As per our update yesterday, an emergency adjustment has been made to the traffic management arrangements following safety reviews. This means that Southway, approaching the roundabout and entering Magdalen Street, is currently reduced to one lane.
The focus of works has been around the traffic islands, particularly the Magdalen Street island, where the team is identifying and surveying a number of underground services. Works have also started within the subways, and over the coming days the team will be surveying of the subway lighting to enable its safe removal. The team will also begin carefully removing artwork from the subway walls.

East Hill update
Works on East Hill remain on schedule. The team continues to focus on installing the new kerb lines on the south side of the road. Works are also underway on the construction of the bus stop and the widening of the crossing point.
While these works are underway, a temporary crossing point has been installed.
The team continues to monitor the traffic management arrangements to ensure they operate as efficiently and effectively as possible and are working closely with the St Botolph’s site team.
