Works continue to progress on schedule at St Botolph’s Circus, with the focus on the demolition of the islands. The team are also continuing to monitor the traffic management in place to ensure it is working as efficiently as possible.
Pedestrian Crossing update
Plans to close the pedestrian subway at the junction and install a temporary pedestrian crossing on Magdalen Street have been brought forward. This was originally due to take place in October, however following a safety review will now be in place in the coming days.
Maintaining access across the junction is critical, and we want to ensure this is done as safely as possible.
Work to create the temporary crossing is underway. Once the temporary crossing is operational, the pedestrian subway will then be closed.
As a result of these works, the bus stop on Magdalen Street outside the Magistrates' Court has now been suspended. Notices are in place to inform passengers and provide details of the two nearest alternative bus stops.
If you have any enquiries about these works, please do not hesitate to contact the project team. Further information on the works is available via www.essexhighways.org/st-botolphs-circus.
